Meet Kristen

Kristen Levine is the conscientious owner and founder of The Jeweled Net, a community of care for every stage of the life cycle. Inspired by the teachings of meditation, yoga, and End-of-Life Doula work, Kristen serves in a secular format while honoring the sacred. She holds a BA in Journalism and an MFA in Writing, and has nearly twenty years experience teaching Social Justice and Ethics. With certifications in End-of-Life Doula Training, Mindfulness Vipassana Meditation, and Vinyasa Yoga, she draws from a multi-faceted tool kit through which she nurtures her community. She is the mother of two daughters, is an avid mountain biker, and lives in Marin County, CA, with her husband, Mitch, and Australian Shepherd, Bodhi.

Through meditation, yoga, and presence while passing, Kristen helps you create a clearing in the dense forest of human experience—at any stage on life's cyclical journey.

Find peace, and ultimately freedom, through the power of the pause. Return home to the version of you that bears witness to each of life's transitions from the perspectives of equanimity and compassion.

Kristen’s Tenets for Cyclical Living

  • Clarity

Kristen inspires you to experience, “What is happening right now?” She prompts you to explore, “Can I be with this?” You’ll cultivate a practice of just noticing and acceptance of what is without story or judgment. This invites calm and clarity into your daily life.

  • Compassion

Kristen encourages you to investigate your thoughts, feelings, and emotions with a gentle, curious attention. She teaches you how to create and hold a safe and loving space for yourself. This, in turn, nurtures your capacity for tenderness and kindness towards others.

  • Connection

Kristen creates communities of care where people ask each other, “What are you going through?” We wait for the answer, we listen, and we connect. We walk each other through life cycles. We discover and enjoy the connections with ourselves, each other, and the planet.

Debora Reisch

“I can’t say enough about Kristen’s service and counsel when my 90-year-old father was passing. Kristen was instrumental in counseling my family through the initial immediate steps—appointing a health care proxy, DNR, and at her suggestion, hiring an estate lawyer to help us manage his finances and property while hospitalized.

As his health continued to decline, she assisted us through the medical options of palliative care vs hospice. Most importantly, we became active advocates for my father, making decisions that were more informed rather than thrust upon us by others.

As my father was dying, Kristen provided insight as to what we should expect in terms of the body’s process of shutting down. She gave us suggestions on making him more comfortable by playing music, reading to him and talking to him. Witnessing his reactions and pure joy to the music and reading let us know that he was listening.

Finally, Kristen accompanied me to the mortuary to make final arrangements. Through it all, she was calm and soothing. It gives me and my family so much comfort to know Dad’s passing was peaceful during what could have been a chaotic and overwhelming time.

I would highly recommend this service not only for the loved one who is passing, but also as a support for the family.”
